The LA Times does not get it. The construction industry heavily employs illegal aliens. So, honest people lose their jobs to the crooked illegal aliens. "Hispanic workers were more likely to be employed in the construction sector, which was pounded during the housing collapse, particularly in states including California, Florida and Nevada, which experienced the largest declines in housing prices and biggest increases in foreclosures."
Get rid of the illegal aliens and honest Hispanics and other honest will have jobs. In fact, at least 5 million illegal aliens hold jobs. There are 15 million unemployed American--fire the illegal aliens and one third of our unemployment rate would be cut. Send the illegal aliens back to their native countries and American government could save close to $100 billion a year.
The Times refuses to note in this story the role of illegal aliens in the unemployment figures--now you know why the circulation of the Times has gone from one million daily to just over 600,000 and falling as fast the stock market. Why pay for misleading press releases pretending to be news stories?
