Democrats just love taxes.
"In California, Senate Majority Leader Dean Florez, D-Shafter, has introduced legislation to levy an excise tax of a penny per teaspoon of sugar in soda and other sweetened beverages.
The tax would raise $1.5 billion a year, which would support physical education for high school seniors and beef up physical education in kindergarten through eighth grades, Florez said."
Florez would take $1.5 billion per year from the productive and give it to government. What a waste.
This is why California has almost 13% unemployment--we take private money, meant for people and families and give it to government for unions and special interests.
We deserve the Great Depression for allowing Florez and his fellow Democrats to run the State into the ground--of course, to be fair, with the help of a registered Republican as Governor.
