You can always count on the Democrats to raise taxes, kill jobs and make the poor and middle class even poorer. Thanks to Cal-Tax we have a list of bills presented by Democrats that would take $14 billion out of the economy and give it to government--to cover the $39 billion (total, when you include everything) current deficit. Plus we have a debt over over $600 billion.
My two favorite are these:
Massive, Unworkable Split Roll Property Tax. AB 2492 (Ammiano) would require reassessment of all property of a corporation when, cumulatively, 50 percent of corporate stock is transferred. For the 2011-12 fiscal year, the bill establishes a rebuttable presumption that all publicly traded companies have undergone a change of ownership, and that there is a change of ownership every three years. The bill has been keyed as a two-thirds vote measure.
Soak the Rich. AB 1836 (Furutani) creates 10 percent and 11 percent personal income tax brackets, thus increasing volatility of the tax. The 10 percent rate would kick in at $250,000 of income and the 11 percent rate would start with $400,000 of income. The 1 percent "millionaire's tax" would be added to these new rates. The current top personal income tax rate is 9.55 percent (plus 1 percent for incomes of $1 million or more).
The cumulative effect of these two is a guarantee that businesses and those who have the money to invest in businesses will leave the State, immediately. The Democrats are attacking capital. Without capital, labor goes unused--unemployed. If these pass, the current 20%, real unemployment rate, could double almost over night.
why do Democrats loves illegal aliens, but dislike honest, hard working citizens. between Obama rationing health care--unless you have a Congressman that works for you alone---and the Sacramento Democrats killing jobs, between AB 32 and these new taxes--the poor and middle class are being squeezed into other States and a Third World life style.
