Is the purpose of a government education a four year degree or a winning football team?

Allow community colleges to educate students in preparation for life.This can be done by either academic degrees or vocational degrees.
Want "great" universities for the arts or sports? UCLA or Cal could be great--but the students pays the extra costs, not the taxpayers. Let the NFL and the NBA pay for the athletic programs,not the taxpayers.
Colleges are for education and degrees--if you want fluff--pay for it yourself.
