California has high tax rates killing California jobs. The Ventura Star supported those taxes.
California has regulations, like AB 32 that are killing California jobs. The Ventura Star supported almost all the job killing regulations, including AB 32.
Last year the Star supported the massive Schwarzenegger tax increases.
Now, thanks to the policies of the Ventura Star, 15-20 employees will either have to move to Texas or be fired. The employees, Californians, are paying the penalty for the Ventura Star supporting high taxes and job killing regulations.
Texas by the way has a Republican governor and no income taxes. It even has a surplus. California, thanks to the bonds, taxes and regulations has a $36billion deficit, $600 billion in debt--Texas has no deficit and a minor debt.
Why did the Star pick Texas to run a Ventura county newspaper? Texas does not have the taxes or regulations that the Star has promoted. Texas is open for business, while people are leaving or being thrown out of California.
To be fair, the fiscally bankrupt SF Chronicle, Sacramento Bee and the LA Times, also support high taxes, AB 32 and other job killing regulations.
The media is committing suicide and their employees are the first victims.
