Should children be forced to pay the salary of union leaders? In Vista and many other government school districts, tax dollars meant for the classroom are used to pay union leaders,who then force teachers to pay bribes to be in the classroom.
"The California Teachers Association is challenging Vista Unified School District's request that the local teachers union repay money the district paid toward the salary of the union president while that person worked full-time on union business, school officials said this week.
Since 1995, the president of the Vista Teachers Association has remained on the district's payroll, while the union has reimbursed the district for 60 percent of his or her salary ---- money the district uses to hire a lesser-paid replacement teacher.
Late last year, an attorney advised Vista Unified officials that the arrangement was illegal and district officials asked the union to repay the district $128,242 ---- the difference between the two salaries over the last three years."
If a teacher wants to be the president of the Rotary, a Flower club or union, they should do it on their own time, with their own money, not tax dollars meant for children.
This is theft. Time to demand payment AND file criminal charges. Want to see corruption, find a union.
