Oceanside recently held a Recall election. Jerry Kern was being recalled for the crime of not giving the unions what they wanted. Kern has this old fashioned idea that as a council member he represents the people of Oceanside--not just the unions.
"Two groups that worked on a failed drive to recall Oceanside City Councilman Jerry Kern violated state campaign laws by not properly reporting their connection to the Oceanside Firefighters Association, the state Fair Political Practices Commission reported." Then again what do you expect from unions that force workers to pay bribes to keep their jobs?
So they tried to Recall him--and the unions lost by an almost 2-1margin. The people want representation on the council, period. "In its warning letters, the commission said that as of April 2009, Citizens to Recall Kern had received 97 percent of its money from the Oceanside Firefighters Association; as of March 2009, Citizens for the Preservation of Parks and Beaches had received all of its money from the firefighters."
The monopoly union paid for the Recall, and then tried to hide the fact. Guess they were not proud of what they did.
