Ready or not, the court ordered crime wave is about to start. Are you protected by the police?
"More than 130 nonviolent San Bernardino County jail inmates have been turned loose under this law since Monday and more than 1,000 others could soon join them on the outside. That's in addition to 6,500 nonviolent state prison inmates slated for early release in the next 12 months.
Ontario police Detective Jeff Higbee said the Police Department isn't pleased.
"I think the recidivism rate from what I've been reading is at 80percent, so there's a good chance they will commit another crime and end up back in the system," Higbee said. "There is a concern. They're going to tax our resources more if they're out there committing crimes."
Lock your doors, the courts have opened the prisons.
