June Ballot Initiative Numbers Assigned
Here are the Ballot Measures for June, and my recommendations. Pass this around to your friends, the campaign has begun!
Secretary of State Debra Bowen announced the ballot numbers for the 5 initiatives on the June primary ballot. They're listed below, along with my own views on them.
Prop 13: Exempts seismic retrofits from property taxes. We are talking about protection, not beauty.
We need to retrofit--so I will vote YES on Prop.13
Prop 14: The top-two primary. This corrupt measure(put on ballot to buy vote to raise taxes) ends free speech in California, the rights of third parties and tells the people of California you are stuck with no choices for legislative offices in many districts for the November general election. This measure was conceived in corruption--tell those behind it that California is not going to become Chicago.
End the corruption of Sacramento, I will vote NO of Sacramento, I will vote NO on Prop. 14
Prop 15: The California Fair Elections Act, creating public financing for Secretary of State elections in 2014 and 2018. This measure steals money from the poor and middle class. You thought your tax dollars was going to school, public safety and roads? Under this measure the politicians steal money from children and the elderly--and then call it "good government".
Politicians stealing tax dollars is nothing new. Being able to stop them is. I will vote NO on Prop.15
Prop 16: PG&E's effort to make it harder to create public power districts by requiring a 2/3rds vote. Corrupt, incompetent government is using scarce tax dollars to buy or own private firms--that is socialism. Make it difficult for government to force the sale of energy companies--stop government from controlling private firms.
I will vote YES on Prop. 16, this anti Obama type measure
Prop 17: Mercury Insurance's effort to change Prop 103.
Want to find out more about this measure--more later.
