  • Is Proposition 13 to Blame for California?s Fiscal Crisis?

The Left does not have a mirror. Out of control spending and government power grabs, not Prop.13 or "low taxes" (we have very high taxes, but not high enough for Democrats).

Saving homes from high property taxes should be a benefit to society--except the Left does not like private property.

"They charge that the measure impedes the state government from implementing budgets, even in times of crisis. What the data actually show is that the state government and their local counterparts have had very little trouble raising taxes to the point of being markedly uncompetitive and dangerously eroding the incentives for work effort, savings, investment, and entrepreneurship. These form the bedrock of a prosperous economy, now little in evidence."

Do we really need a $200 billion money losing high speed rail system? Do the poor need the State to own stadiums and museums? Can students afford union owned and controlled government schools?

Government, not Prop.13, is the cause of the California Great Depression.
