  • Governor: Staff, "Don't take Him Seriously"

You know you are in trouble when even your staff tells the public not to take you seriously. "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's comments about building a prison in Mexico to house undocumented immigrants currently held in California prisons reflected only his "out-of-the-box" thinking rather than a serious policy proposal, his spokesman said Tuesday."

Arnold is at 27% in the polls and dropping faster than Obama's credibility.

""It's not a proposal we're putting forward at this point," said Aaron McLear, a spokesman for the governor. "This is nothing we proposed, nothing we planned to propose, but a concept that if folks think is a good idea, maybe we ought to talk about it."

Actually, it could have been a good proposal--sending illegal alien criminals to prisons in Mexico. But, Arnold is working hard to gain credibility again--and most, the public and the media, see him as just a flailing politician trying to create a positive legacy.

Sadly, that is totally impossible. When you create $110 billion in deficit over five years and tank the California economy into 12.4% unemployment, nothing will save you. Trying to sound responsible on the illegal alien issue doesn't help when your own staff tells the media you are not serious. You might consider getting new staff.
