The people gave $3 billion to gigantic scam artists on the promise of finding the holy grail of medicine. Now, six years later, we know we were lied to and ripped off--after watching the tears of Michael Fox and others demanding the money so they can walk.
A good cause, but a total scam. "Disputes with the Legislature, concerns about potential conflicts of interest in the grant application process, and questions about whether taxpayers will ultimately recoup their investments in the program have dominated news coverage of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. The institute drew more unwelcome news coverage last month, when it tripled the salary of its executive director, Art Torres, after just nine months on the job. Torres, who formerly headed the state Democratic Party, saw his pay bumped to $225,000 per year."
This is a money maker for politicians and special interests. As expected, and known, adult cell research works--but the $3 billion was for the already failed embryonic cell research.
Stop the investigation, start the criminal proceedings. Stop the spending of money not already allocated. That would be the honest thing to do.
