You know Democrats are in trouble. Now a few, one running for Attorney General and the other in a swing district have decided to protest the release of criminals. Of course, the bill passed in October, and the release is scheduled for Monday, so they did wait to decide this is wrong.
"The Democrats -- Ted Lieu (D-Torrance), who is running for state attorney general, and Alyson Huber (D-El Dorado Hills), who is facing a tough reelection campaign this fall -- have teamed up on a bill that would mandate that local officials have a voice in which inmates are released.
Im all for reform, but Im against stupid reform, Lieu said in an interview Monday. Today is a sad day for public safety and victims of crime. Starting today, pretty much every prisoner who is not in for life -- the overwhelming majority of them -- will get their sentences cut in half.
Both of these Democrats have supported the ACLU for years--and they are proud of the support given them by the ACLU.
Oh, well, you always know when an election is near, Democrats start caring about your safety.
Of course the reporter did not note this and made this sound like their normal position on crime. This is why fewer people are reading newspapers-- the papers print Democrat press releases as news, without question.
