Did you know the Democrats want to raise the cap on interest that we pay for bondsfrom5%to12%? See the bill here.
Did you know that Assemblywoman Diane Harkey fought this bill on the floor of the Assembly? Here is a link the video of Diane's floor speech on the bill. She killed the first round - even Budget Chairman Noreen Evans changed her vote and opposed it on the first round, but, as you may guess the Democrats got the votes they needed for the second round and passed it (I think during Budge Special Session in July). She her speech here.
We have few in the legislature knowledgeable to fight back against this type of action. Assemblywoman Diane Harkey (R-Dana Point) has been in the Assembly only one year.. She is the lead on Solvency Strategies for the Assembly Republican Caucus and highly regarded for her successful career in corporate banking and finance spanning 30 years at various institutions such as Bank of America. One of the few legislators with 30 years of expertise in finance, Assemblywoman Diane Harkey is truly the "Banker of the Assembly." Glad she is on our side!!!
Please note that this is part2ofAssemblywoman's views on our undeclared bankruptcy--a subject the CA Political News and Views has written about MANY times. Part one can be found in the FlashReport here
