There is one benefit to the massive government deficits.Local,county and state governments are forced to cut programs, projects and support of unions and other special interests.
Riverside County is complaining that it might have to cut hundreds of workers. But is has 19,000 workers--at best it will cut3% of the workforce--more than that is out sick or on vacation every day. No one will notice a 3% cut. In facta10% cut could easily be handled--if they want.
Government has too much money and too many employees. This is the time to right size government.
Should local governments own stadiums, theaters or shopping malls? They do. Time for government to sell assets and create revenues instead.
