Federal judges want California to release over 40,000 criminals. The Governor has a plan to release 37,000 criminals.
Now the judges have agreed to support Arnold's plan.
This is why gun sales have skyrocketed. People understand that with fewer cops, and one fourth of the jailed criminals to be released, we will no longer be safe.
"In the meantime, the governor was required to submit a plan showing how, if the state loses, he would reduce the inmate population by up to 40,000 over two years. His first plan was rejected by the judges in October because it did not meet the required population targets or time line." Note that the Times does NOT tell us about the 37,000--you would think that is an important part of the story.
Why did the Times refuse to tell us the Schwarzenegger plan is to release 37,000 criminals? Oh, please know he has already started--most of the juvenile criminals have been released, about 3,000.
Feel safer now? Thank Arnold if you do.
