In May of 2009,the Governor and legislature forced us to have a special election--all six of his money raising proposals lost--some by more than two to one.
"Budget Retreads: The new budget proposal is full of ideas that are not so new. First up, 2009's Prop 1D and Prop 1E mentioned above are back, with Schwarzenegger again counting as a budget solution the shift of a total of $1 billion into the general fund and out of programs earmarked by voters."
So in June,if the Guv gets his way, we will have to defeat Prop 1Dand 1E AGAIN. This will put another billion hole in his budget. He already has a $12billion deficit--since the budget includes taking money illegally from trust funds and getting money from the Feds--which Pelosi and Feinstein have already said we would not get.
Bottom line--this budget STARTS with a $13billion deficit--not bad. Since we currently have a $36billion deficit, this means our two year deficit starts at $50 billion.
Makes me proud to be a Californian. Aren't you proud?
