Arnold said he wanted to "blow up the boxes". So far all he has blown up is the California economy.
My State Senator, Tony Strickland, is proposing a massive blow up of the politically corrupt Commission syste, Though some good friends of mine are among those appointed to these political, high paying commissions, it is still wrong.
"However, Sen. Tony Strickland, R-Moorpark, is targeting 10 specific boards and commissions -- jobs he says are handed out as political favors.
"They're insiders. You don't get on that board or that commission position without knowing somebody -- and that's the problem," Strickland said.
In one board alone -- the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board -- five of six members are former legislators.
"Look at the list. They're my former colleagues who are landing these nice positions and I just think that's unfair. It's wrong," Strickland said."
But, do not hold your breath for honest government in California--it will take a ballot measure to create honesty in Sacramento.
