The system works.
While the San Bernardino Registrar of Voters changed the system of approving signatures for the "Adams": Recall, ending the Recall threat, Anthony Adams, after looking at the polls determined to retire than lose in a GOP primary next June.
Congratulations to Mike Schroeder for his persistence and dedication to the cause of honesty in government.
Also, congratulations to Anthony Adams. He never wavered in his defense of his votes to increase taxes. In fact, in a recent Pasadena Star article noted he might vote again to raise taxes, regardless of what it would do to his political career. Adams is an honest man, whether you agree with him or not.
But, the Recall effort did show that voters have the ability to control their legislators. In a few weeks the Governor is going to ask for higher income taxes, an extension of the sales tax increase and vehicle registration fees (even though the Guv swore last February this would not happen--maybe this is why his approval is only 27%, folks no longer believe him)
