I guess the Mayor of Fresno is so awestruck of Mike Villines she needs to spend tax dollars to have a lobbyist talk to the Fresno Assemblyman.
"Twenty-four local governments spent a combined $1 million on lobbyists the first nine months of 2009, and 15 of them are on pace to surpass what they spent in the 2007-08 legislative session, according to a Bee analysis of state lobbying reports."
The City Manager of Tulare is so incompetent he must have a high priced lobbyist speak to the State Transportation Department.
Now you know why government has too much money. Elected officials are afraid of talking to Sacramento or Washington officials.
Were I in charge, I would outlaw the hiring of lobbyists by any government agency. If the Mayor is afraid to talk to a State Senator, then the Mayor should quit.
