  • Navarrette: Be Honest, They ARE Illegal

Newly minted Obama Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor is a educated apologist for criminals. "Her first opinion on the high court came in a case called Mohawk Industries v. Carpenter, which involved a business accused of employing illegal immigrants. The first Latina on the Supreme Court preferred the term "undocumented immigrant."

"Undocumented immigrant" sounds like someone left their "papers" behind or lost their papers. These are not honest people, these are law breakers.

"But the fact is, these people did break the law, either by entering the country without permission or by remaining here without permission once their visas expired. Granted, technically, they're not all criminals. As any Border Patrol agent will tell you, not everyone who crosses the border uninvited has committed the same kind of offense. Sure, some are guilty of misdemeanors. Some have committed felonies if they've been deported before and brazenly re-enter the United States. But others are guilty of mere administrative violations for which the punishment isn't incarceration but deportation."

Either way, these human beings are illegal aliens, nothing undocumented about them. Guess Sotomayor would call a murderer an "undocumented doctor"?

Liberals in public policy, like judges, are dishonest people. They create new words and phrases to apologize for the illegal activity of the "protected" class---illegal aliens.

What do you call those who sneak into our country, use stolen or phony ID's, drive without a drivers license, steal health care from our elderly, education from our children and populate our prisons for overt, vicious crimes? Do you call them "illegal" or "undocumented"?
