  • California Great Depression to Continue

Thanks to California regulations, taxes and fees, a plant employing 4700 people is shutting down in Oakland. Another 1,000 employees, of suppliers, are also losing their job.

Wonder how many billions in "stimulus" money will be needed to get these jobs back?

"The loss of suppliers could further devastate a statewide economy pummeled by the recession. Since the job markets peaked about March 2007, California has lost 988,000 jobs and the Bay Area has lost 181,000 jobs.

"Some of the suppliers will be completely put out of business," said Ben Bartolotto, an employment specialist with the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board. "The impact is monumental. It is a tsunami."

Government is NOT the solution, it is the problem--just ask the almost 6,000 people about to lose their jobs and the dozens of businesses that will be shut down.

Add this to the list of reasons California will have a Great Depression for many years.
