  • Panel is divided on plan to bring jobs to South L.A.

How many jobs should $3 million in tax money bring to Los Angeles--27?

The bigger question is why a government a half billion in deficit is buying private property and then giving it away? "With unemployment at double-digit levels, the Community Redevelopment Agency has offered to give a real estate company two industrial buildings that were purchased by the city in 2007 for $2.7 million."

Maybe the firms needing the buy should buy them instead of government. How many jobs were lost when government paid $2.7 million--maybe 40?

Time to get government out of the private property business. End the deficits, stop the corruption. Would love to know who owned the buildings bought and how much the owners donated to politicians, wouldn't you?

In Simi Valley, we had a former city councilman in financial trouble. And no one would pay him the price he needed. So, the city bought the land--and it stayed unused for more than a decade--how much did the taxpayers of Simi Valley pay for this bailout of the political elite?

Shame on us for allowing this. We deserve bankrupt government--we continue to elect those that steal from us--"legally".
