The city of Los Angeles is about a half billion in deficit (part of the reason is that they furloughed and fired people, but still spent $85 million more than budgeted). Now we have tenants of the government airports turning back leased land.
I have an idea. Sell Van Nuys Airport. Sell the closed Palmdale Airport. Sell the Ontario Airport. Yes, even sell LAX.
Get a corrupt, special interest run government out of the business of transportation systems.
The good news is that the city will no longer lose money on these operations. The better news is that these properties would start paying property taxes--helps everybody--almost.
The loser? Unions and the corrupt politicians they own.
Truly, sell the airports, it is a win-win for all but the corrupt.
