  • California's unemployment rate shrinks - but so do the number of jobs

Democrats are so, so, very happy. The rate of unemployment in California has gone done from 12.5% to 12.3% That is just great news, right? Wrong.

The key number is not a percentage, but the raw number. That means the 10,200 MORE unemployed in the State are victims of higher taxes, AB 32 and a government out of control in Sacramento.

The REAL unemployment rate in California is over 20%--if you included the discouraged who have stopped looking for jobs, the underemployed--those working part time but wanting to work full time--and those working TWO jobs and are counted as being two separate people.

Oh, the soon Speaker of the Assembly, says we need higher taxes to get us of this mess--caused by the higher taxes. Last February the politicians raised the sales tax--and in the last year, with the increased sales tax, sales tax collection went DOWN by 14% statewide. That is what happens when economic illiterates have a majority in the legislature and a Governor.
