Well, looks like Hanukkah has been good to Steve Poizner. As the story notes, he is giving his campaign for Governor $15 million. When you click on "read more" you will see the URL which will tell you about the donation, not loan, to the campaign.
Then you will also see a story from the Orange County Register about Steve. The bottom line to the story is that Steve Poizner is the only candidate for Governor, Republican or Democrat that not only does not want to raise taxes--he is the only one that understands that the only way out of this fiscal crisis is to cut taxes and grow the economy. The February tax increases killed the California economy.
From the OC Register: "Mr. Poizner shows promise on many other issues facing California. He opposes a carbon emissions tax, supports a part-time legislature, and wants to see a 50 percent reduction in capital-gains taxes. Education reform is also a highly emphasized platform in his campaign, as a passionate advocate for school choice and charter schools.
Going into 2010, Mr. Poizner also says he opposes open primaries and is skeptical about a constitutional convention because he sees it as an excuse for legislators not doing their jobs. He declined to give a position on a Paycheck Protection ballot initiative, but said he thought it was interesting."
