This is why the Democrats may vote against "UnAbel" for Lt. Governor--they need his vote, again, to raise taxes. "No major news today on whether Abel Maldonado will or won't be California's next lieutenant governor. But new comments from the leader of the state Senate seem to acknowledge one part of the deliberations or rather, six billion parts.
As in the $6.3 billion of missing dollars needed to balance the current budget a deficit that may require the vote of Senator Maldonado to resolve."
Of course the number is number is not $6.3 billion--it is $36 billion, when you include everything. The good news is that GOP'ers saw what happened to Cogdill, Adams, Ashburn and Villines. Doubt if anybody will vote for a tax increase this time. But, "UnAbel", who knows.
What do you think...will he or any GOP'er support a tax increase in 2010?
