  • LA City Council Gives 22% Wage Increases

The city of Los Angeles is half a billion in deficit. It owns the Ontario airport, which, due to high costs, is losing passengers.

Now the City Council is giving a 22% wage increase--to unionized workers Good for the union--but it will cause fewer passengers and layoffs.

"The move only further pushes down "an industry that is already on its knees," LAWA Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsey said.

"This is troublesome to me from a costs perspective, while we're waiting for the economy to turn and passengers to materialize," she said.

Some airline officials are concerned they will have to reduce services, which will result in fewer jobs, Lindsey said."

Government is the problem. This mandated pay raise will cost one airline $700 per employee per month cost increase.

Now you know why government should not own private businesses. Now you know why unions are killing the low paid workers, while demanding bribes at the same time.
