Why don't students in LAUSD have full time teachers in the classroom? Union and State rules. "As a result of its unpopularity, Markham has six teacher openings in a year when hundreds of L.A. Unified School District teachers have lost their jobs. The school's leaders know of qualified teachers outside the district who would love to work there, but cannot hire them because of state regulations and contract rules that govern layoffs and rehirings according to seniority."
It is obvious government is not about education, it is about special interest control of billions of dollars. It is about government holding students hostage.
LAUSD should hire the teachers on Monday and tell the unions to go to hell. Publicly. Let the parents and taxpayers know the reason LAUSD education is bad is because of the rules and unions.
