The Governors office admits the deficit for the next 18 months is $21 billion--in fact it will be closer to $35 billion if it is a penny.,
Then they note that 2011-12 is ALREADY over $21 billion. That means at least $50 billion in deficit, after rolling over $60 billion in deficit in just the past three years--five yea total of deficits? $11o billion and growing.
"But, he added, "It is unlikely that the Legislature can address all of the state's massive, ongoing budget problems with permanent, ongoing solutions in the next year."
I don't have to be so diplomatic. I'll just say that there's no way these people can produce an honest budget that forces Sacramento "to live within its means," as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger persistently preaches, while consistently being one of the first to sin."
Note he says we will NOT get an honest budget. We have not had an honest budget since before 1998--since then, smoke, mirrors and lies.
Expect a special session on the budget in no more than two months--then more smoke, mirrors and lies.
