Government, at its base, is corruption. it takes from one person and gives that to another, while taking a "handling" charge.
CalTrans is as corrupt as it gets.
CalTrans demands a private owner sell its land to them. I n exchange, for $40,000 from the company, the company gets an nearby excess CalTrans parcel.
CalTrans TAKES the private property but refuses to give the excess property. Why, because one CalTrans Commission questioned the deal.
The deal falls through--and CalTrans sells the excess land to a friend of the Commissioner who questioned the original deal.
Yet, no one has gone to jail. This open corruption will cost the taxpayers at least one million dollars, plus attorney fees on both sides.
Did I mention no one is going to jail. Did I note that no one was fired or reprimanded?
This is why government has too much money--it is legalized theft and this is just one example.
Small government is corrupt. Big government is corrupt, big time. How much corruption will you accept? Time for a voter revolt and an honest Attorney General.
