  • Unions Want End to Campaign Fund Raising Limits

Some unions feel that do not have enough power. Currently the own six of the seven school board members. They own at least ten members of the city council. Unions totally own the Mayor. They also own three of the five members of the LA County Board of Supervisors. They also own all the Democrats members of of the Assembly, Senate and Congress from LA County.

But that is not enough. "A nonprofit group closely tied to the Department of Water and Power employees union has filed a federal lawsuit against the City's Ethics Commission, saying a city campaign fundraising law is unfairly limiting its ability to advocate on behalf of City Council candidate Christine Essel."

It should be noted that her opponent, Democrat Assemblyman Krikorian is ALSO owned by the unions, just different unions.

Too bad it is not possible for both candidates to lose.
