For several decades doctors have insisted women have mammograms, starting at age 40. This is insure catching breast cancer as early as possible, This saves lives and health care costs--but importantly, mammograms saves lives.
Now, we know one of the ways Obama is going to "save" money. "Most women should start regular breast cancer screening at age 50, not 40, according to new guidelines released Monday by an influential group that provides guidance to doctors, insurance companies and policy makers."
Who are the "partners" of the organization promoting this rationing?
Outside experts who provide extensive peer review of draft reports are drawn from the clinical professions, public health, epidemiology, health promotion, and education. Liaisons from the major primary care societies and from Public Health Service agencies contribute their expertise to the evaluation process, provide peer review of draft documents, and help disseminate the work of the USPSTF to their members.
Federal partners include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Defense (DOD), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)."
Government is the partner. The Obama Administration. EVERY doctor involved in this study receives government grants and loans, directly or indirectly. This is another phony government sponsored study.
The new recommendations reverse longstanding guidelines and are aimed at reducing harm from overtreatment, the group says. It also says women age 50 to 74 should have mammograms less frequently every two years, rather than every year. And it said doctors should stop teaching women to examine their breasts on a regular basis."
1. No mammograms till 50
2. Fewer mammograms between 50-74
3. STOP teaching women to examine their breasts on a regular basis.
And you though Obamacare was to save lives? This is a sickness. Palin was right, there is a death panel--they apparently prefer women to not take care of themselves.
Wonder if Hillary will approve of this? How about NOW? Will Boxer and Feinstein tell women NOT to do a self examination, NOT to get a Mammogram on a regular basis after age 40?
Will Katie Couric, Barbara Walters and Oprah demand the end of mammograms.
This is just the first of the rationing of health care. Women will die without proper health care. I bet Michelle Obama will get regular mammograms starting at age 40, don't you?
