How dumb are the Federal courts? "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's administration said it can comply with a court order to reduce California's prison population if federal judges bypass the state Legislature and
pre-empt state laws.
They said the judges could order the state to divert nearly 20,000 criminals to local jails or house arrest."
In other words, the Courts would violate State laws and our elected legislature--three men would do this.
Here is the problem. What happens when the cops re-arrest the "released" criminals for breaking out of jail? What happens when the legislature cuts education and health care, dollar for dollar, for the money stolen by the courts? What happens if the Treasurer refuses to allow the forced money transfers--since he would be liable for allowing the corruption and theft?
This is just another stupid game played by those who believe you should not be safe because criminals are uncomfortable.
The Governor needs to "man up" and tell the courts they are violating our laws and harming our people. Arnold needs to let them know he will stand with the citizens of California against the out of control judges with bodyguards.
The better news? California has no money to steal, and our law enforcement officials will enforce our laws against jail breaks--even if a judge gives the criminals the key. Would you allow this massive jail break?
