This is Sunday morning. I flip my channels between "Fox News Sunday" with host Chris Wallace and the pre game NFL football shows.
Today, "Fox News Sunday" was not on. Instead the whole crew, Coach Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, Michael Strahan and crew were in Afghanistan to do the show,.
They were there to do a show, entertain, the troops, meet with them, talk to the wounded and those about to go to the "field". While this show about is football, it was really about those in the younger generation willing to fight and sacrifice for freedom--while others are self serving, these men and women are serving us, our children and out future freedom.
It was as moving a show as you can want. They opened with each member of the cast explaining what the trip and the military means to them Strahan, the former NY Giants player, explained his father was a Major in the 82nd Airborne--Army--that he grew up as a military brat.
America is divided, it is in trouble. We have a president who is unsure of who or what he represents and what he wants for the future of the United States. His actions shows he represents foreign interests, concerns and needs BEFORE he is concerned about the needs of American citizens. Obama has made race divisive again. He believes in the State, not the people.
Yet, Fox News FOOTBALL showed that Americans of all backgrounds, ethnicity, sexes, can work together for a common cause--freedom.
Then to end the show, Terry Bradshaw, the "loony" former quarterback for the Steelers, lead the military audience in a rendition of "G-d Bless America".
It brought tears to me eyes. As we will soon celebrate, and celebrate we should, Veterans Day on November 11, we should remember those who fight, and those who died for our freedoms.
My father served for over five years in the Army in Europe during World War II. He joined before Pearl Harbor. I served in the Army, including a tour in Viet Nam with the First Infantry Division. I arrived in Viet Nam a few days before the 1968 Tet Offensive. My good friend Ted Greig is a Marine (though he left the service many years ago, we all know that once a Marine, always a Marine) who is proud today to tell of his service to our nation--like millions of others who have served.
Fox News Football, Fox News, and the Fox family serves to unite America. The network is willing to tell the truth about a government run amuck and a group of men and women willing to fight for the freedoms we all are allowed to enjoy. After watching this show, can you imagine Keith Olbermann, Rachal Maddow, katie Couric or Wolf Blitzer leading a singing of the National Anthem or any other patriot, freedom promoting song?
Fox News loves America, the good, bad and ugly. The fringe media "protects" government from the people and truth.
Now you know why Fox News audience is larger than all the other cable networks--combined--soon it will be the GE, Disney and Viacom networks behind Fox.
Thank you Fox News for truly honoring the military and freedom. You love America, warts and all, and America is proving it loves you.
