A GOP Senator has been appointed to the open seat on the Riverside Board of Supervisors by Governor Schwarzenegger. This is almost one year to the day he won election to that seat.
Now, there will be an election to fill the Benoit seat. Already announced for that, in this game of domino's is Assemblyman Bill Emmerson, termed out next year, and Assemblyman Brian Nestande--he won election to his Assembly seat just a year ago. If Nestande runs for this seat, based on when the election is, he might not be able to file to run for re-election if he loses the special election primary. This seat should stay in the hands of the GOP, regardless of the nominee
It is also possible that the Governor will appoint Senator Abel Maldonado as the Lt. Governor to replace Jorhn Garamendi, who decided to run for congress--and win. He replaced Ellen Tauscher, who just after taking office decided she wanted to be part of the Obama Administration.
Tired of all these career politicians playing domino's with our government. At the very least, if elected to an office, you should fulfill your term.
This is why folks have little trust in the political process-the appearance is that politicians are looking for an office to run for, not serve in.
