  • Conservatives to Contest Moderates In GOP Primaries

New York 23, the congressional race, has opened the floodgates for electoral battle between those who support a principled approach to government and those who support the "art" of the compromise.

The first sign of the open split is the Recall of GOP Assemblyman Anthony Adams--a consistent and articulate promoter of conservative values. Then he voted to give Californians an historic tax increase. Now, he is about to enter a Recall election and his political future is gravely in doubt.

Then you have the race for Senate in Florida. This pits the GOP Governor, Charlie Crist against the former House Speak Rubio. Crist recently, physically, embraced President Obama and commended the President on the Stimulus package. This open the floodgates of conservatives in Florida, now Crist is about to become as toasted as Dede in NY 23.

Conservatives have decided to challenge instead of complaining. Its kind of like investors in a company saying theyre not going to tolerate it anymore. And thats what were seeing here, said Eric Odom, executive director of the American Liberty Alliance, a libertarian-oriented group. Were already gearing up. This is just the beginning.

It should be noted that at the same time the MoveOn.org folks are preparing to target non radical Democrats in the primaries as well.

We are seeing a realignment of the political parties--that is one success for Obama to crow about.
