The MTA uses your tax dollars to provide subsidized transportation, always at a major deficit every year--while you have problems finding a job, paying the rent and getting health care.
Several years ago they contracted with an Italian form to build rail cars.
The firm is three years late in the delivery of the 50 cars.
The Italian firm build cars that are 6,000 pounds too heavily.
The incompetent leadership of the LA MTA is negotiating to buy 100 MORE rail cars from the firm that has proven itself unable to build 50 cars.
Now you know why government transportation is expensive. Now you know why the LA MTA is corrupt.

Who is to blame? The people of Los Angeles for their trust in government, for anything. They continue to vote for higher taxes and more bonds--they deserve to get phony contracts and economic disaster. Any wonder many are in fiscal trouble--they continue to give government more money, meaning less money for their own children.
