  • Should Cities Have a Foreign and Defense Policy?

Ever heard of the city of American Canyon? Do you even know what county or what part of the State it is in? A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity of driving through this beautiful community, near the city of Napa. The whole town has a population of about 16,000.

Yet, the city council is going to debate a resolution about sending more troops to Afghanistan. You heard me, the city council is going to act like the US Senate, debate and "set" foreign policy.

While I understand the emotions behind this movement, it is still wrong. When San Fran demands terrorists take over the middle east, this is also wrong.

All cities are being financially squeezed. Some are even fighting back at the major cause, monopolistic unions. All have roads, school and health care problems.

It is time for city councils to do their job, run their cities. It is time for them to stop acting as a Congress--it is a waste of time and money.

I fear that the cities MUST have their OWN foreign and defense policies because the FEDS simply NEGLECT their duty to COMBAT ILLEGAL immigration!
