I love politics! Imagine, 121 people can determine you live or die, live on the streets or a mansion. The same folks can decide if a criminal can take your job or your life.
The only way we can "control" government is by the Initiative process. Folks like Democrats, Meg Whitman and other believe we have "too much" democracy and want to get rid of the process--they call it "tweaking"--they want you to create a ballot measure then get permission from the legislature to go forward.
The 2010 election cycle will have a large number of ballot measures--from legalizing drugs, union measures to raise taxes (in a Depression),parental consent for abortion by minors to the ending of the theft of transportation money to cover the deficit.
Yes, this is the revolt of the public--we need to make our own laws--the children in Sacramento have made a mess and the voters will clean it up.
Maybe we can also get rid of the big spenders and replace them with adults.
