The Superintendent of LAUSD went to the homes of "dropouts" to force them back into government schools.
What he found were those already graduated, wrong addressees, kids who had moved from the district. Oh, and "promises" to go back to his failed government schools. s real job. "At another stop, Cortines found Jose, 19, who quit going to school to help his mother at a store she runs. The two counselors with Cortines explained that Jose, who requested that his last name not be used, could attend school part-time or go to night school or adult school. Jose promised he would meet with counselors at Fremont to see what could be worked out.
The trio had trouble finding other dropouts on their list because families had moved or the school's information was out of date."
The Superintendent is supposedly an education leader--but, like a career politician, loves a good "photo op" instead of real work.
Now you know why LAUSD is in trouble and has way too many administrators. Instead of getting the computer systems fixed, he is looking for dropouts who do not exist. Maybe he should work on WHY they dropped out instead--that is his real job.
