The LA Times has a theory about our Governor. "Schwarzenegger had threatened to veto hundreds of bills unless legislative leaders, who have been meeting privately in an attempt to hammer out a solution to California's water supply problems, could reach an agreement by the Sunday bill-signing deadline. No such deal was struck, but Schwarzenegger rightly backed down. That won't help his credibility, and a governor more concerned about having to twist legislative arms in the future might have stood firm."
Arnold swore he would veto 700 bills if he did not get a water bill he approved of. Then at midnight Sunday he signed hundreds of bills. Therefore, at midnight he proved he was so weak as Governor he would give in and sign bills, including those he had vetoed in the past. The Times thinks there is no reason to believe Arnold any more. What do you think, is he still a force?
