This is a Recall election to be watched. It will determine if an elected official can go so far against the beliefs of his constituents that he can vote any way he wants. It will also show if a candidate can make a promise, and when elected, break it--even if he thinks it is for a good reason.
GOP Assemblyman Anthony Adams voted for the largest tax increase in the history of the State. He believed it was needed for the good of all Californians. The people of his district believed it would hurt them. So, close to 60,000 signed a Recall petition--with 36,000 needed to certify a Recall election.
Watch this carefully. Every Republican and Democrat officeholder will watch holding their breathes--if successful, even well known and well liked office holders will be held to count for their votes in the Capitol.
