Instead of fixing what is wrong with government education, the "professionals" just want to throw money at a failed system. It is cheaper and better to educate students with charter schools. Yet the "professionals" (read that unions) hate the idea.
How about the basics, reading, arithmetic, history, instead of classes on sensitivity training, obesity. "peace" and a dozen other wastes of time in school.
Running education in California is the Cabinet Secretary of Education, an elected Statewide Superintendent, a State Board of Education,a county board of education and a local board of education--lots of "professionals" and very little common sense.
Government education has too much money--reform instead of stealing from the rest of society is needed.
