  • Shrink-the-state proposal picks up steam

Maybe it is time to save some of us. By breaking up the State into two parts, maybe ten million people can be saved from disaster. The rest just need to be thrown off the life boat--they do not seem to want to live anyway.

For instance, the Bay Area folks gave the margin of victory for the $20 billion High Speed Rail Bond (principal plus interest) on the way to spending over $200 billion for this boondoggle. But, now that it will be built near them, they are complaining. Or San Fran wants to keep its water, but demands the rest of us go dry to protect the delta smelt. Well, why not refill the Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite, where San Fran stole its water from? San Fran believes in returning to nature--let it live its policies for real--no water for San Fran.

Even if we can save the jobs and lives of ten million people it will be worth it. Eventually East Germany, I mean Northern California, will want to rejoin the freedom of the people of West Germany, I mean Southern California.

That is why this may make sense.
