  • California Employment Meltdown: 12.2% Unemployed and Growing

When you have AB 32 killing jobs and stopping investors from considering California for new jobs, you have to expect the unemployment rate to grow.

When businesses KNOW they will have an $18 billion payroll tax increase by the end of next year, no new jobs will be created.

When you have high taxes and growing fees, no new jobs can be created.

Many economists predict the December unemployment rate--shown in January, will be at or above 13%--on its way to 15% by the end of 2010.

Even with the massive tax increases in the phony February budget, State revenues continue to decline, and Democrats have dozens of proposals to raise taxes and fees even more.

Soon 40,000 criminals will be put on the streets. With fewer law enforcement officers, and more criminals, the streets will be less safe--another reason for higher gun sales and good people to leave the State.

Oh, remember the Governor sent notices to 5,000 State employees that they will be laid off on September 12? Well, another Arnold statement he flip flopped on--as best as can be told--not a single State employee was let go on the 12th.
