Judges take the day for a golf game. Defense attorney and DA's decide that after nine or ten months, they are not ready for trial. It is always something. Some trials take three years to START.
So, when the courts decide to close for a day, justice will not notice. Maybe if they worked from 9-5, maybe if they allowed only ONE postponement, maybe if they allowed all the evidence into a trial, we should be worried about courts closing for a day.
Until those reforms are made, who cares if the whole courthouse gang goes fishing on one work day a month?
