  • Los Angeles to Lay Off Hundreds

Guess those paying bribes to unions in order to work for the City of Los Angeles have not paid enough.

LA has a half billion deficit, it is raising energy and water costs by a minimum of 17%, it is a city in meltdown. But, Phony Tony takes lots good photos every day.

Want to see what Democrats can do to a city? Go to LA. That should turn most people Republican.

    Mr Franks,

There is a problem with the City of Los Angeles, All the way around the grave was dug with their own hands, yet your libelous bile has no bounds.

It's a little more complex than "bribes," "unions" and a photogenic Villaraigosa.

I think this is just a power consolidation effort by Villar's puppeteers. In order for them to remain strong through an economic crisis that might threaten to turn into a rebellion, they need to get the most workers that might facilitate that out of their positions and reduce them to just taxpayer status. That way, less whistleblowers and clerks that aren't totally loyal to the regime.
It's not like they can just ban them

From what I know of Villaraigosa, I wouldn't doubt a power grab when opportunity knocks.

However, this isn't a move that Tony the Aztlanista would want to do.

The plan is general is to take over city hall and then employ as much Raza as possible while avoiding or discouraging as much Anglo employment as possible.

The early retirement is a win - win for Villaraigosa. While a buy off, the retirement would shed a larger percentage of whites. A layoff would mean pink slipping a significantly greater proportion of Latinos, not exactly in the interest of racist political Chicanismo.

Perhaps Villaraigosa's LA is collapsing under its own weight just as La Raza Unida did in Texas something like thirty five years ago.

How would banning board members on the basis of seniority affect a political agenda which isn't allowed by terms of incorporation?
