  • Environmentalists: Ballot Measure to Raise Car Fees

Leftists will find any reason to tax the middle class and make more people poorer.

Instead of directly finding money for this special interest--how many Californians actually go to these parks?

""I use state parks. I love them. But why should some working single mom in Compton who never goes to a state park subsidize my enjoyment of state parks? It doesn't make any sense," said Jon Coupal, president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.

Coupal said state parks could save money by privatizing maintenance, and further increasing entrance fees."

This "fee" increase is not parks--it is about making citizens poorer.

I just really dislike parks. Long ago a person could go to a park and I guess enjoy it (since I grew up on a farm they never were something new to me). These days a day in the park is a struggle to escape the unruly kids and obnoxious adults. I will stay home. CLOSE ALL THE PARKS AND SAVE THE WATER ON THE GRASS.

I'll let you in on a trade secret RIMO5. I work in a park like setting every day. Nicely trimmed lawns with shade trees and a few benches. Birds and squirrels and lots of flowers everywhere. It's also very quiet much of the time, and not that many kids. No drunks or drug users yet, and it's free to use. It's a cemetery. people often come to visit loved ones and bring picinic baskets for hours. No one will ever ask you if you belong here as long as you don't cause some ruckus.

I lived right next to a park once upon a time.

        Never again.
