Thanks to a decision by the Governor to make budget cuts that were illegal--but looked good on paper, the deficit of California went up yesterday due to a court order.
So far, over $5 billion of "cuts" have been returned by the courts. We are now $5 billion further in debt, with possibly another $5 billion to be added by the courts soon.
Like it or not, the law is the law. Too bad our elected officials prefer to fudge the laws and create higher deficits than do their jobs and make honest cuts and decisions. Just a couple of days ago another court ruled the Governor could not order the furlough of 7900 State employees--wait till we pay for that mess, including interest and penalties!
What are they smoking in that tent in Sacramento?
